The Home Away from Home Respite program, which is housed at the Community Center of Geneseo, provides a welcoming space for senior citizens with memory-related illnesses and critical free time for their families and caregivers.

 

The Home Away from Home Respite Center is a collaboration among Noyes Health, Livingston CARES, the Office for the Aging, SUNY Geneseo, and the Community Center of Geneseo.

 

Trained student volunteers assist the senior participants in fun, social activities while their caregivers have time to themselves.

 

The program is available Tuesdays and Thursdays, from September through early May, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.

 

Programming is also available in the summer, though hours may differ.
