HILLEL
Hillel is available to SUNY Geneseo students of Jewish heritage, with its office in the Interfaith Center building.
The Hillel movement has been uniquely focused on serving all kinds of Jewish students, no matter who they are or how they express their Judaism. Hillel is the largest and most inclusive Jewish campus organization in the world. hillel.org
Hillel’s mission is: Enriching the lives of Jewish students so that they may enrich the Jewish people and the world.
Among other activities, the Hillel students at SUNY Geneseo have organized weekly Shabbats, campus-wide bagel brunches, and participated in international Good Deeds Day.

Livingston County Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is first and foremost a non-profit builder with the mission of creating safe, decent and affordable housing for families in need in Livingston County. We do this in a partnership to provide “a hand up, not a hand out,” and allow the purchase of a home and/or maintenance they otherwise be unable to afford. Newman Catholic Student Community
Newman Catholic Community at SUNY Geneseo is a parish of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Raleigh. Its office is housed in the Interfaith Center building.
Newman Catholic Community is characterized by active participation in workshop; spiritual growth and development; stewardship of time and talents; and service in and for the surrounding community.
Among other activities, recently Newman students have met over weekly pasta dinners, organized the practice of Lectio Divina, and visited the Abbey of the Genesee.

The Home Away from Home Respite

The Home Away from Home Respite program, which is housed at the Interfaith Center, provides a welcoming space for senior citizens with memory-related illnesses and critical free time for their families and caregivers.
The Home Away from Home Respite Center is a collaboration among Noyes Health, Livingston CARES, SUNY Geneseo, and the Interfaith Center.
Trained student volunteers assist the senior participants in fun, social activities while their caregivers have time to themselves.
The program is available Tuesdays and Thursdays, from September through early May, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.
Programming is also available in the summer, though hours may differ.
